Natasha tells her story of the Holt Renfrew campaign.

Shooting makeup is always an unpredictable task – and it brings challenges for a still life photographer that naturally loves to have the control over the smallest details of each shot component.

Control and precision are the main elements that a cosmetics photographer needs when dealing with materials that might not be fully controllable on set. I love the super precise power dials of the Broncolor Scoro. The reflectors and grids are great for overall lighting and the Picolite with its attachments for those very small and specific areas of the small still life worked perfectly.

The project required 4 makeup images for the client, Holt Renfrew.  The photos needed to be iconic, conceptual still life images of beauty items, and they will be used though the year for in-store advertising, and web announcements.

I’ve just recently started using Broncolor lighting. Another project recently required a rental of a high speed pack and lights for water shooting with cosmetics. From the first moment of seeing the images shot with Broncolor, I knew there was no going back! The quality of light is exceptional – it’s crisp and it simply has a quality much different than any other lighting I’ve tried.
